Workday US Payroll Consultant

Are you an experienced Workday US Payroll Consultant looking for a fully remote, long-term role where you can deliver meaningful impact across multiple clients?

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, values-driven Workday services team supporting organisations through a managed services programme. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality payroll configuration, solving complex problems, and guiding clients through every stage of their Workday Payroll lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading end-to-end delivery of the Workday Payroll workstream, including planning, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Working closely with clients to understand their payroll operations and translating their business needs into effective Workday configurations.
• Managing tasks, priorities, and responsibilities within the payroll workstream and keeping clients and engagement managers informed of progress.
• Taking a leadership role on projects, including acting as a product lead or delivery assurance reviewer where required.
• Handling hands-on Workday activities such as loading data, managing configuration migrations, updating business processes, and supporting payroll security.
• Mapping and converting data sources using templates to support data migration.
• Providing mentorship and guidance to colleagues, including shadow support and knowledge sharing.
• Participating in update training and contributing to internal knowledge development.
• Producing documentation, reporting, and supporting integration with related functional areas.
• Adapting to a variety of client environments while delivering consistent, high-quality service.

What we’re looking for

• Active Workday US Payroll Services Certification (required) and willingness to transfer certification under the client.
• At least 4 years of professional Workday Payroll experience.
• Minimum 2 years of payroll administration or similar industry experience, with strong understanding of core payroll concepts.
• Experience gathering requirements, designing solutions, prototyping, testing, and implementing Workday Payroll under multiple deadlines.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different teams.
• A proactive, organised, and methodical approach to managing workstreams and solving problems.

Project details:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
