Workday Functional Solutions Architect

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workday Solution Architect to support Siemens Energy in optimising its Workday strategy and implementation. This role is critical in ensuring the effective management of Workday HCM, Benefits, Job Management, and Advanced Compensation while aligning with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will be a Senior Consultant with deep expertise in Workday tenant strategy and a strong ability to engage with multiple stakeholders across the business. A strategic mindset, advanced presentation skills, and creative storytelling ability will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Tenant Strategy & Job Architecture

  • Lead discussions and provide recommendations on Job Management vs. Position Management within Workday.
  • Advise on best practices for structuring job frameworks to optimise efficiency and scalability.

• Compensation & Benefits Strategy

  • Evaluate and enhance the scope of Workday for handling allowances (both fixed and variable).
  • Define strategies to improve the eligibility and administration of benefits within Workday.
  • Provide insights on Advanced Compensation and its alignment with global reward structures.

• Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as a strategic advisor to HR, Finance, and IT teams, ensuring alignment across all Workday initiatives.
  • Present complex Workday strategies in a clear, compelling, and structured manner to senior leadership.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality presentations to illustrate proposed solutions, using data and storytelling techniques to drive buy-in.

• Workday Optimisation & Implementation Support

  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance Workday configurations to meet Siemens Energy’s evolving business needs.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within Workday’s HCM, Benefits, and Compensation modules.
  • Provide hands-on support for configuration changes, testing, and deployment of new Workday functionalities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Extensive Workday experience, ideally as a Senior Consultant or Solution Architect.
• Deep understanding of Workday HCM, Advanced Compensation, and Benefits.
• Strong background in tenant strategy, with experience advising on Job Management vs. Position Management.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise across HR, Finance, and IT teams.
• Creative storyteller with advanced presentation skills, able to simplify complex Workday strategies for leadership teams.
• Experience with global organisations and a strong grasp of Workday best practices in large enterprises.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with key business objectives.

Additional Information

• This is a remote-first role, but candidates must be based in Europe (best cost country preferred).
• The initial contract is for 3 months, with a strong possibility of extension based on project demands.
