Workday - FDM/FIN Accounting Lead

Are you an experienced FDM and Financial Accounting Lead with a background in Higher Education looking to join a critical Workday project?

We are seeking a highly capable consultant with strong Workday Financial Data Model and Financial Accounting expertise to support a large Higher Education organisation. This role requires someone who can quickly come up to speed ahead of configuration review sessions scheduled for December, making an immediate start essential. You will play a key part in ensuring the organisation’s financial configuration aligns with best practices and future-state requirements.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading FDM and Financial Accounting workstreams for a Higher Education Workday environment.
• Reviewing existing configurations and preparing for upcoming configuration review sessions.
• Working closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify gaps, and propose design recommendations.
• Supporting assessment and documentation of financial structures, mappings, hierarchies, and data flows.
• Providing subject matter expertise across FDM, ledger configuration, financial accounting processes, and cross-functional dependencies.
• Advising on best practices to ensure a scalable and compliant financial architecture.
• Partnering with project teams to support testing, issue resolution, and readiness activities.
• Delivering expert guidance under tight timelines to support critical project milestones.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience as a Workday FDM and Financial Accounting Lead.
• Background working with Higher Education clients is essential.
• Ability to quickly onboard, assess complex systems, and provide immediate value.
• Proven success supporting configuration design and review sessions.
• Workday Implementer Certification (mandatory).
• Ability to work independently and manage deliverables to fixed timelines.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Mandatory ability to transfer certifications to the client as required.

Project details:

• Estimated hours: 150
• Immediate availability strongly preferred
• Remote support with collaboration across project teams
