Jay is a resourcer on our art team, working alongside Joe, although resourcing is not Jay’s only talent… He also DJs and runs Brighton’s biggest electronic dance music label, so when he’s not in the office you can catch him in shows across the city and making content for his YouTube channel!
Our Oracle expert, Mark, has dedicated nearly a decade to growing our Oracle practice here at Skillsearch. He is a keen cricketer who bats a bit, bowls a bit less and is amazing at standing in the field. A Manchester United fan and a proud Father, Mark holds the record for having more things from Amazon delivered to the office than everyone else combined. He also has an infectious laugh so try and get him going when you speak to him.
Freya is our word wizard and seems to have beautiful words stored in her hands just ready to fall out onto a page. Lucky for us she has chosen to share her skill with us to look after our marketing and make everything you see as enjoyable as possible. Her favourite things to do around Brighton are visits to Devils Dyke and Ditchling Beacon to enjoy the wonderful scenery so with this and her love of words we imagine that in another life she would’ve been the heroine in a Jane Austen novel or Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Katie is our candidate queen and spends her time listening to people paint pictures of their dream job ready for whenever that job pops up. As one of our resident Women in Games Ambassadors, Katie is an advocate for women getting the job they want and deserve in the Games Industry! Her claim to fame is meeting the Queen which in turn led to movie stardom (sort of)- ask her about it!
Giles runs our Gaming & Interactive division and specialises in forming tight knit teams, whether that’s for a studio or in our office. He represented his county at rugby for every age group from 12 onwards which no doubt helped him to cultivate his excellent understanding of team dynamics. Giles is known for his warmth and willingness to take time to work through any issues that may arise, although make sure you don’t try and share his food as then you won’t be getting a warm welcome – Giles doesn’t share food!
Our Art Resourcer, Eleanor is on hand to help candidates with expertise in all areas of game art from Character Artists to Environment Artists, UI Artists, Technical Artists and everything in between – so get in touch if you’re looking for a new role in this space! There’s no rest for the wicked as in her spare time you’ll find Eleanor working on her side hustle – crocheting! Ask her about her Etsy shop to see her latest creations...
As a member of our APAC team, when Victoria isn't finding her candidates the perfect role, she’s busy taking advantage of her waterside location by flexing her SCUBA diving skills! Be sure to get in touch with her if you’re looking for a new role in games and she will dive headfirst into finding the role you’ve been waiting for!
Wade works on our Design and Production desk alongside Andy, and if you ever doubted that our team are true games lovers, he’s here to prove you wrong! In his spare time you can find Wade building intricate stories for his role as a Dungeon Master in DND, or at his local game store playing TTRPG games. Games aren’t his only love however, his favourite memory being seeing the Northern Lights on a birthday hike in Findland! Get in touch with Wade to discuss Design and Production opportunities today...
If you’re looking for a job in Workday, Charlie is our in-house expert! He’s loyal - having learned from the best with his two black Labradors Ziggy and Freddy – so Charlie will stick with you until he gets you settled in the right job! Catch him while you can though – Charlie’s dream is to own a house in the mountains where he can ski to his heart’s content, so get in touch before jets off to The Alps!
Chay works alongside Katie and Ryan as a Games Programming Resourcer after a dramatic career change from being a plumber, so you can be sure to count on Chay to get you unstuck from an unideal job and smoothly into a new role! Don’t worry, he’s also got a gaming background with his favourite series being Modern Warfare and of course Crash Bandicoot, so with these combined skills he’s sure to bag you the role you’ve been waiting for!
Our Associate Director, Joe, joins Giles in heading up our Games and Interactive division, his passion springing from being blown away by the effects in Star Wars at a young age. His love hasn’t wavered and Joe always seems to bring out a new Star Wars t shirt every dress down we have! We are lucky to have him considering that he once got stuck half way up a mountain in Borneo so now he goes for flatter holidays – most recently driving across America in a Mustang.
Our Operations Manager, Eleanor looks after all things contractors and clients, as well as our team in the office – she is the friendly face who you can count on to answer any query you have. When she’s not in the office or travelling around America, Eleanor can be found pushing herself to the limits at boot camp and looking after her gorgeous guinea pigs!
Besides throwing shapes at his favourite bar, Sam’s second favourite Brighton-based activity is finding the best game art talent in the office. But when he’s not busy with either of these things, he’s got his hands full with his three pet lizards, scorpion and tarantula waiting for him at home!
Our Social Media Administrator, Emily is a key part of our marketing team – writing job ads, blogs, creating content and more, allowing us to attract the best talent from all over the globe. In her spare time Emily can be found sipping a cider, swimming in the Brighton sea, or convincing her co-workers to go vegan! Keep your eyes peeled for Emily’s content on our social pages!
Jake is a key part of our ever growing game animation & marketing recruitment team, and we know he’ll nurture you in your job search just as he’s used to nurturing his many plants! Despite his deep seated fear of jellyfish, you can find Jake swimming in the Brighton sea in his spare time, in an effort to conquer his phobia... Looking for a new role in animation/marketing or a new swimming partner?! Get in touch with Jake today!
Emily S works alongside Emily A in the Business Operations arm of our games team, forming the spectacular team that is ‘The Emilys’! Despite Emily confessing she’s about as talented as a sponge, we have to disagree – she is extremely talented at finding our candidates the role they’ve been longing for... Get in touch with Emily if you’re looking for a new sales, recruitment or publishing role in games today!
Our CEO fitness fanatic and father of 3 Richard will be found running or in the gym every lunch as he says that’s the only place he ever gets any peace and quiet. Voted 9 out of 10 as a geek by the team Richards top 3 loves are Star Wars, Tottenham Hotspur and his family – although we aren’t sure in which order. Richard is the office oracle and says what he doesn’t know about recruitment isn’t worth knowing – we haven’t managed to prove him wrong yet!
Our Operations Assistant, Eve, assists Eleanor in looking after all things contractors and clients – a keen cook and is always here to help! In her spare time Eve can often be found in the kitchen cooking up a storm, we’re hoping she’ll whip us up some treats inspired by her favourite film The Grand Budapest Hotel…
If you’re looking for a role in Game Design or Production, then Kai is your guy! Arguably our most well travelled consultant, having been born in Dubai, growing up in Brighton, and travelling around South East Asia and New Zealand, Kai can find you your dream job wherever you are or want to be in the world.
Emily specialises in Sales, Recruitment and Publishing in the Games Industry and is committed to being a great matchmaker for candidates & studios. In her spare time Emily is found taking on one of her many passions like baking, painting or adrenaline sports! Despite having travelled a lot over the years, her happy place is by the sea, so we’re hoping she’ll hang around for a long time thanks to our seaside office location!
Our People Operations Manager, Kelly, is in charge of looking after our wonderful team. Kelly works her socks off to make us as happy as can be and ensure Skillsearch is the best place in town to work! In her time off you can find Kelly snowboarding or enjoying the countryside in the New Forest – unfortunately not at the same time – spending time with her lovely family and pets, playing netball, pilot gig rowing, running, making homemade pizza... The list goes on. What a talented People Operations Manager we have!
Jack heads up our Interactive and Immersive division in our games team and he’s a great fit for the role thanks to his love of all things XR, including *trigger warning* The Metaverse. With a background in recruitment in other industries, Jack decided to move himself, his partner and his daughters from London to the coast and take on a new challenge in an industry he’s passionate about, which is where he found us! If you’re as excited as Jack to be a part of how we’ll make and play games in the future, get in touch with him today!
Working closely with our Oracle expert Mark, Ben is on a mission to matchmake candidates and jobs in the ERP/Oracle/Cloud space. Considering his run-in with a venomous snake when he lived in Switzerland, we’re pretty lucky to have him! Safely back in the UK we hope he’ll be sticking around for a while so he doesn’t miss roast dinners and his Dad’s chicken pie! Get in touch today if you’re in the ERP/Cloud/Oracle space, before he jets off on his next adventure!
As an Associate Director at Skillsearch, Ross helps to keep us all in check. As a father to two girls and Rupert the Yorkshire Terrier, he is used to taking on the parenting role within our team! Having previously competed in the world championships of the game "Toads", and being invited to go on The Apprentice, Ross is a director of many hidden talents...
Ryan leads our dev team, focusing on scouting out the best programmers in the industry! We think he’s working here mostly to get his hands on new Lord of the Rings VR experiences as soon as they come out although, with his level of knowledge, maybe he should be helping make them instead! He is one of the few people on the team that is a born and bred Brightonian. In fact, he has never moved far - to the point where the last time he moved, it was only 2 doors down from his old place!
Sam works on our Development team, with a focus on the North American market. When he’s not scouting out the best talent across the pond, you can find him strolling on Brighton seafront and checking out all of our home town’s best pubs and beach bars! Sam is a talented bodybuilder and is just as talented at speed eating as he once ate 50 chicken wings in under ten minutes! Think you can beat that or are looking for a new development role in North America? Get in touch with Sam today.
