VFX Artist in LA

Are you a talented VFX Artist with games industry experience? Would you like to take on a new challenge in the world of VR?

As a VFX Artist at this studio in sunny LA, you will be working on creating stunning and exciting visual effects for live performances. Working in Unity you will be building VFX to work alongside performers in concerts to make their music and movements come to life. VFX Artist key responsibilities:

  • Create innovative visual concerts
  • Guide and inspire the art team
  • Create stylised VFX to enhance performers in ranging styles and moods
  • Bring to life movement and music working in Unity

Essential requirements for this role in LA:

  • Strong reel of previous VFX work
  • Significant prior experience in a VFX role
  • Able to solve VFX problems without guidance
  • Strong understanding of game production processes
  • Understanding of and experience with 3D game engines
  • Creative and collaborative mindset

A little bit about the city: LA

LA County is home to 88 cities including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and West Hollywood – and although they operate independently of LA, they are still a part of the metropolis. Los Angeles’ freeway system is daunting and infamously hectic. Despite this, most LA dwellers still use their own cars to get around, although other popular options include ordering a Lyft or an Uber (ride-share apps). One thing LA is rightly famous for is their climate. With sun near to 365 days a year and an average of 75 degrees Fahrenheit every year for the past 30 years, the weather here is near on idyllic!

Senior VFX and Animation Consultant Joe McKernan

Joe is our Animation and VFX Consultant, his passion for the latter springing from being blown away by the effects in Star Wars at a young age. His love hasn’t wavered and Joe always seems to bring out a new Star Wars t shirt every dress down we have! We are lucky to have him considering that he once got stuck half way up a mountain in Borneo so now he goes for flatter holidays – most recently driving across America in a Mustang.
