Do you have Unreal Engine experience, and are you seeking a new job in Amsterdam? Our client is looking for an Unreal Game Programmer, and the role comes with an attractive salary of up to £35,000 pa and a benefits package.

As an Unreal Game Developer, you will be working on all sorts of game features for our next AAA VR games, making sure the feature is aligned with our designers to bring the most fun to our end-users. To apply for this role, you need to be eligible to work in the EU.

In your first few weeks in this Unreal Game Developer role, you can expect to:

  • Take ownership of a game feature implementation, working closely together with the tech lead to make it fit the complete codebase
  • Use your knowledge of C++, C#, object orientation, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures to create solid technical designs and efficient implementations of these game features and systems
  • Work closely with our designers to create fun and engaging game elements for our AAA VR games
  • Analyse prototype code and come up with production quality systems that are robust and can stand the test of time in an iterative environment

To apply for this role, you need to have written a number of games and or hobby projects in C++. You'll also have:

  • A proper understanding of all the basic concepts of the language like the object oriented approach, pointers and references, containers, inheritance, polymorphism, functions, structures, and visibility
  • Created at least 1 project using the Unreal Engine
  • Good understanding of creating blueprints, and optimizing code through the usage of C++ and the Unreal pipeline
  • Previous VR experience
