Do you have video game user interface design experience, and are you seeking a new job in Toronto or Ontario? Skillsearch is helping a growing indie video game studio find a full-time UI Programmer, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package. The job can be undertaken on-site and/or remote in Ontario. 

As a UI programmer, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, taking responsibility for all the game's UI and UX needs.  

In your first few weeks in this UI Programmer role, you can expect to: 

  • Work with other programmers in many other areas of the game process 
  • Collaborate closely with team members from other departments 
  • Play a significant role getting features from paper to the player by working collaboratively with game designers, UI artists, and the QA department 

To apply, you must have a keen interest in participating in the design process, and an understanding and appreciation of video game user interface design. You must be a team player, willing to help others identify problems and seek creative solutions. Specific requirements include the following: 

  • At least 3 years of professional video game programming experience 
  • Experience developing game UIs, especially collaboratively 
  • C++ proficiency 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, self-motivation and initiative-taking.
