UI Programmer in Edinburgh

As a UI Programmer at this studio in Edinburgh, you will be creating world class UIs to build the connection between player and game. Alongside a hugely talented team of programmers and developers, across multiple studios worldwide, your role involves creating in-house UI technology to please and excite players. 

This studio creates top tier entertainment experiences for a worldwide audience and has enjoyed amazing award-winning success from their best-selling game franchise. If you like working on rewarding and ambitious projects and like the sound of working in an inclusive, innovative, and creative environment alongside some of the most talented people in the industry, this role is for you. 

UI Programmer responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain next generation UI systems 
  • Take prototype designs and iterate on them to become easy to use UIs 
  • Work with artists, designers, and others to discover the best way to utilise UI technology 

Key requirements for this role in Edinburgh: 

  • University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Maths, or similar 
  • Professional experience of working on one or more shipped game 
  • Excellent C++ programming skills 
  • OO design skills 
  • Understanding of UI design patterns 
  • Passion for creating cutting-edge video games

VR and AR Consultant Ryan Templeman

Ryan looks after programmers particularly focusing on the VR/AR space. We think he’s working here mostly get his hands on new Lord of the Rings VR experiences as soon as they come out although, with his level of knowledge, maybe he should be helping make them instead!    He is one of the few people on the team that is a born and bred Brightonian. In fact he has never moved far - to the point where last time he moved, it was only 2 doors down from his old place!
