Do you have UI design experience, and are you seeking a new remote job in the UK? If so, we'd love to hear from you! Skillsearch is helping a collaborative company recruit a Mid to Senior UI Artist to work with them on an exciting project to manage and guide the UI/UX process. This full-time UI Artist role is remote, UK-based and offers an attractive salary and benefits package.  

As a UI Artist, you will be responsible for creating art for the entire front-end and in-game UI elements, from technical specifications through to functional implementation. You will also create visually engaging UI with a good understanding of the UX and work closely with the art, design and programmer leads. 

To give you an idea of how this Mid to Senior UI Artist role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do: 

  • Develop concepts and the design of the game's front-end menus and in-game user interfaces 
  • Create and supervise an efficient, functional and visually interesting UI 
  • Work closely with design and code to implement UI/UX solutions 
  • Create storyboards outlining the entire flow of UI screens 
  • Implement and maintain UI assets in the game engine 

To apply for this UI Artist job, you will need 3-5 years of solid UI/UX game design experience in relevant genres, such as FPS, TPS or Action. You will also require experience with UI design software like Figma, Sketch (iOs), Adobe XD and inVision and a good understanding of iconography. In addition, you should have the following skills and expertise: 

  • Experience with UE4 regarding UI implementation workflow 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with an ability to provide and accept constructive feedback 
  • Motivation and passion for creating great user experiences and appealing visual design 
  • Familiarity with standard industry software such as Photoshop and Illustrator 
  • A solid understanding of typography, composition, colour theory, visual design and interaction design
