Our client is looking for an experienced and collaborative Tools Programmer to join our inclusive and welcoming team. This full-time engine program role is based in Guildford, Hertfordshire, and offers a favourable salary and benefits for the successful candidate.

In this Tools Programmer role, you’ll be working closely with the engineering team as you understand and build upon custom in-house technology, as well as the wider development team, supporting internal tool and feature development, optimisation and compatibility. You will be joining at a critical stage of the project with the opportunity to make a tangible impact

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Enthusiastically jump into our existing codebase, improving key developer tool and pipeline features
  • Build relationships with the users of the engine - the team - to understand how to help them achieve their goals
  • Work closely with our principal engine programmers to expose the capabilities of our engine to the rest of the team in a user-friendly way

To apply for this role you need to care about code quality and robustness, but not to the detriment of the end goal. You'll also require:

  • The will to deliver the game
  • To know a lot about performance tuning and optimisation
  • To come armed with an advanced technical background, where your intuition to the 'what' is backed up by the 'why'
  • To have a good level of C++

If you’re looking to impact and create change positively, you'll be rewarded with an excellent salary and benefits package for your inclusive and committed approach.
