If you have software developer experience and you’re seeking a new remote role, we want to hear from you. Skillsearch is helping a gaming company find a full-time Technical/Software Architect, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.
You will architect and guide gameplay system development to help the game engine grow to fit the needs of current and future games and applications. You will also drive the architectural vision for the engine tools, including engine plugin, art resources management tools, scenario editor, storyline system and behaviour tree editor.
In your first week in this gameplay system architect role, you can expect to:
- Set code standards and guidelines for the development teams (i.e., language features, code style, best practices)
- Ensure high standards for code quality through code reviews and mentoring of coders
- Work closely with game studio teams and product managers, often across different projects, along with their leads and production to align feature work to help everyone succeed.
To succeed in this role, you will need at least 7 years of professional experience in the software or video game development domain, with at least 1 year in a Software Architect capacity. You will also require the following:
- Experience working on game engines, Unreal Engine is a must
- Excellent understanding of the various engine modules and their interactions
- Worked on at least one AAA title from start to finish as a systems architect, team management experience is a plus
- An excellent understanding of C++ and C# in the game development environment.
