Skillsearch is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Technical Artist to join our client's inclusive and welcoming Leamington-based team. This full-time Technical Artist role is fully remote and comes with a generous salary and benefits package. 

As a Technical Artist, you will collaborate with the company's art team to ensure their efficiency and advise on any technical issues. You will also creatively solve technical challenges and limitations to create beautiful visuals within hardware limitations. Please note that the team is based in Leamington, but the company fully supports remote working and is happy to enable whatever blend of home and office best empowers you and your work. 

In your first few weeks in this Technical Artist role, you can expect to: 

  • Help the art team communicate their technical needs to the development team 
  • Create tools, scripts and pipelines to create visual content with excellent optimisation 
  • Collaborate with other technical experts within the company to define clear goals for the toolset, pipeline and construction processes 
  • Prototype, develop, profile and implement procedural VFX, including particles, post-processing, shaders, etc. 
  • Inspire the creation of complex procedural and physically based content 

To apply, you will need applicable experience in MaxScript, MEL, C# and preferably should have shipped at least one title of reasonable scale. You should also be passionate, curious, motivated and open to giving and receiving constructive criticism. In addition, you must have the ability to work well as a team player in a collaborative environment and a love for creating unforgettable, utterly loveable gaming experiences for the audience. Expertise in Python, Powershell, Bash and C++ are also desirable.
