Are you a talented and enthusiastic technical artist? Do you want to play a key role in an award-winning studio? This could be the perfect role for you!

As a Technical Artist in Guildford, you will be creating high quality animation rigs and deformation for characters, creatures, and props, as well as working with the other artist and animation teams to improve the quality of the content workflow. You will be constantly pushing the art quality and trying out new ideas.

This BAFTA-winning studio has a glowing reputation for innovation in the storytelling and VR genres, with a number of critically acclaimed successful titles behind them, and some new projects in the works, it’s a great time to join the team! 


  • Experience in a Technical Artist role working on an AAA title and experience with Unreal Engine is a bonus
  • Understanding of Maya and Maya scripting languages, Python, Motionbuilder and Anatomy
  • Understanding of rigging pipelines and able to provide solutions to complex deformation models
  • Knowledge of art authoring packages and transitioning data to engine


  • Working with the animation team to define and create animation rigs for characters, creatures and props and owning the skinning and deformation process for a variety of rigged assets
  • Acting as a bridge across both the technical and creative disciplines
  • Creating tools and scripts which increase productivity of the animation team and other content creators
  • Foreseeing any potential issues and communicate efficiently to department leads and debug the problems in engine and provide solutions
  • Creating forms of character and prop deformation including bones, blend shapes, displacement maps and joint physics
