Remote Technical Art Director

As a Technical Art Director at this award-winning studio, you will have the chance to work fully remotely at the heart of the team as you oversee all technical art across the studio. If you love pushing the boundaries of what is possible and are a confident, inspiring leader, this is the role for you.

Please note this role is remote within Europe only. 

Technical Art Director responsibilities: 

  • Strive to execute the art vision alongside the Creative Lead and Art Director 
  • Design and write custom components and tools to control complex visual elements 
  • Prototype and explore new tools 
  • Identify new technologies and stay up to date with industry trends 
  • Anticipate project risks and work to mitigate them 
  • Create VFX and shaders 

Key requirements for this remote role: 

  • Extensive prior professional experience as a Technical Artist working on shaders, materials, lighting, post FX, rendering, rigging, tool, performance and pipelines 
  • Technical artist and 3D art skills 
  • Experience in optimising modelling, texturing, rigging. Animation, shading, lighting and particle effects for workflows 
  • Strong leadership capabilities and experience 
  • Understanding of sculpting, modelling, rigging and animation 
  • Passionate about working with emerging technology 
  • Understanding of PBR workflow and shader programming 
  • Strong knowledge of Unity engine 
  • Coding and scripting skills 
  • Experience in a range of content creation software such as Photoshop and Maya 
  • Knowledge of asset management tools such as Git
