This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of a new team and project right from the start. The Tech Artist will help bridge the gap between art and code to optimise and enhance the content that goes into their games.

During your first few weeks in this VR role, you can expect to take on some of the following:

  • Help guide the art team through technical guidance and feedback
  • Improve content creation tools/pipelines based on studios’ current and long-term needs
  • Create and maintain documentation standards and practices for tools, pipelines, and technical specifications
  • Analyse and improve art asset inefficiencies and optimise game performance
  • Create, implement, and evaluate game engine optimisations such as LODs, culling, compression, etc

To apply for this remote Tech Artist position, you will need experience developing for console, mobile, and/or VR hardware with an understanding of platform limitations, memory, and performance. Applicants will require proficiency in building, implementing, and improving art tools in Unreal Engine. Additional requirements include:

  • Skilled with content creation software, such as Maya, Substance, or Photoshop
  • Knowledge of art creation pipelines, asset exporting, and process automation
  • Comprehension of programming languages such as Python and MEL
  • Experience with graph-based programming, such as Unreal blueprints
  • Solid grasp of the technical aspects of art creation (3D modelling, rigging, shader authoring, VFX creation, lighting, vertex animation, destruction, and physics)

In return for your creativity and passion, you will receive some great perks, including:

  • Flexible core hours
  • Private health insurance
  • Pension
  • Two duvet days plus a day off to celebrate your birthday
