Do you have Unreal Engine experience, and are you seeking a new remote contract in the UK? Skillsearch is helping a London-based gaming studio find a Senior Unreal Programmer, and the role comes with a per-day rate of up to £400. The role is for three months, with a possible extension.
You will be working directly on the studio's Unreal code base to produce and deliver auxiliary game features. These features will include a wide variety of areas, including 3D assets, rendering and UI. You will contribute to the full development process of each feature, from the initial concept, through design to implementation, testing and bug fixing.
In your first few weeks in this Unreal engine developer role, you can expect to:
- Collaboratively design and implement functionality based on project high-level concepts and goals
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code by following industry standard best practices
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these problems.
To apply for this role, you will need excellent up-to-date knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5, including proficiency with C++ code and UE Visual Scripting Blueprints. You will also require the following:
- Ability to break down and develop game features and subsystems
- Ability to research evolving game standards, graphics and media technologies independently
- Experience with 3D geometry and mathematical concepts
- Experience writing shader code and optimising memory and storage space usage.
