As a Technical Game Developer, you will provide technical support to the design team, assisting with workflow, software and tools. You will also be a technical reference for the Game Team and assist, support and advise the team whenever necessary. You may also be called upon as one of the project’s technical experts on a specific game element.
In your first few weeks in this Senior Technical Game Designer role, you can expect to:
- Oversee the production and implementation of the technical elements of a complete game feature by working in close collaboration with designers, artists, programmers and collaborators in other work units
- Ensure the tools, documents, technical support and determination and dissemination of best practices
- Contribute to data optimisation and validation by ensuring the team comply with the technical standards that apply in the area of expertise
- Periodically provide feedback and suggestions to improve tools and methods, bugs, etc.
To apply for this Technical Game Designer role, you will need a degree in Computer Science or Game Design. You will also require the following:
- At least 3 years in technical design, scripting or level design
- Experience as a game designer in a group project setting - either professional or as part of a degree program
- At least 2 years' experience with Unreal engine.
