Are you an experienced Technical Artist who thrives at the intersection of creativity and technology?

This opportunity will allow you to play a key role in shaping workflows, tools, and practices that empower teams to deliver visually compelling and highly performant real-time content. You’ll bridge the gap between art and engineering, ensuring immersive experiences are built with both technical excellence and artistic quality.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing and maintaining Unreal Engine workflows, shaders, and tools that streamline content creation
  • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to optimise pipelines from concept through to delivery
  • Optimising assets, scenes, and materials for performance, scalability, and memory efficiency
  • Implementing and supporting VFX, animation, and rigging systems to enhance interactivity
  • Creating custom Blueprints, scripts, and tools to automate workflows and enforce production standards
  • Troubleshooting issues in the art pipeline, including asset import and performance profiling
  • Documenting best practices and driving adoption of efficient, scalable workflows across teams
  • Staying up to date with Unreal Engine advancements and integrating new features where relevant

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Artist within Unreal Engine (games, XR, or other real-time environments)
  • Strong technical knowledge of Blueprints, shader/material creation, and optimisation
  • Proficiency in 3D asset creation and optimisation using tools such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max
  • Solid understanding of PBR workflows, lighting, rendering, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with VFX, animation, and rigging pipelines
  • Scripting knowledge (Python or similar) to improve automation and pipeline efficiency
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

If you are a Technical Artist with Unreal Engine expertise and enjoy solving complex production challenges while enabling artists and designers to deliver their best work, we would love to hear from you. Apply now, or email Jack Baxter - jb@skillsearch.com

Please be aware that while we would love to respond to every application we receive, due to high numbers we cannot guarantee this. We do however appreciate any time you invest into the application and will make sure to get in touch should anything in future more closely fit your skillset.
