Senior Lighting Artist in Guildford

As a Senior Lighting Artist at this studio in Guildford, you will be leading a team of artists in this key role on a cinematic game project, using your experience and artistic eye to lead lighting art projects and motivate a team, as well as much more. 

This BAFTA-winning studio has a glowing reputation for innovation in the storytelling and VR genres, with a number of critically acclaimed successful titles behind them, and some new projects in the works, it’s a great time to join the team! 

Senior Lighting Artist key responsibilities: 

  • Work to understand the visual style and goals for the project 
  • Review artwork and offer guidance for improvements 
  • Ensure lighting work stays within budget 
  • Lead by example and inspire the team 

Essential requirements for this role in Guildford: 

  • Extensive prior experience in a Lighting Artist role 
  • Have worked on one or more AAA title 
  • Strong understanding and experience with lighting and real-time gaming engines or high-end CGI productions 
  • Understanding of real-time rendering processes in modern game engines 
  • Impressive portfolio of work 
  • Track record in leadership roles 
  • Knowledge of colour theory 
  • Skilled in Maya or equivalent

A little bit about the city: Guildford 

Located in a beautiful spot in between London and England’s south coast, Guildford is a busy market town that has been recently updated to be home to some great modern facilities such as an award-winning sport centre, including an ice rink and athletics stadium. However, there is still some culture to be explored in this city, with its historic buildings, beautiful parks and a theatre. Sitting on top of a central hill, Guildford Cathedral looks over the city whilst being surrounded by beautiful, picturesque scenery, making for some great exploring. Situated just outside of London, Guildford is a short 35-minute journey into the capital by train, so is ideally positioned so you are not too far away from a day trip to the big city!
