Senior Level Designer

Are you an experienced level designer looking for the chance to join a passionate team to deliver immersive game features? Skillsearch is helping a AAA studio in the UK find a remote Senior Level Designer to help develop a brand new co-op strategy shooter title. This full-time role offers an attractive salary and benefits for your expertise. 

As a Senior Level Designer, you will deliver game features, design documents and prototype specifications to the highest possible quality and support the Level Design Team as required. You will work closely with the Lead Level Designer and support efforts in guiding individuals and teams to maintain and encourage the highest standard of level design. 

If you were already working here as a Senior Level Designer, you could expect to take on some of the following: 

• Create immersive gameplay scenarios that support and enhance the game's core mechanics and creative vision 
• Develop and iterate level designs through close collaboration with artists, narrative, and other disciplines 
• Pre-emptively identify and raise any upcoming issues on behalf of the team to Lead during production 
• Regularly play the levels in production and proactively give feedback to other members on their work 
• Integrate the content produced by other disciplines for your designs into the game engine (new gameplay elements, AI, sound, etc) 

We are looking for a Senior Level Designer with expert knowledge of creating game design documents and prototype specifications. You will need professional experience as a Senior Level Designer on at least one published pc/console game from concept to finish. Additional qualifications include: 

• Expert knowledge of the video game development process, including working in a timely / time-bound manner and prototyping/iterating appropriately within that restriction 
• Expert understanding of production pipelines 
• Proactively ensure the game design serves the audience of the game 
• Able to focus and mentor individuals and teams to achieve a specific outcome to drive performance and solve problems 
• Able to apply an understanding of the games industry to improve the effectiveness of teams and projects
