Senior Level Designer

Do you have VR experience, and are you seeking a new job in Amsterdam? Skillsearch is helping a world-leading VR developer hire a full-time Level Designer, and the role comes with a salary of €55,000 and an excellent benefits package.  

As a Level Designer, you will create spatial designs that consider movement through space, guiding the player’s attention and staging game and narrative events. 

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do: 

• Model simple 3D meshes for blocking out environments 
• Design and implement the levels' gameplay events using blueprints or similar visual scripting tools 
• Collect and analyse playtest data and use it to validate the level design or improve the player experience 
• Collaborate closely with art throughout the level creation process 

To apply, you will need at least 2 full development cycles of experience on a major PC/Console title in a level design role on an action-adventure title. You will also require the following: 

• The ability to independently implement level blueprints (or other scripting languages) 
• Demonstrable knowledge of games industry trends and contemporary development practices 
• Experience in Agile development and working in cross-disciplinary teams 
• Experience working with the Unreal Engine.
