Are you an experienced Senior Game Programmer skilled in C# and passionate about building innovative gameplay systems?

Join a growing game development studio working on multiple PC titles using a custom-built C# framework designed for performance, scale and creative freedom. You’ll work across open‑world, simulation‑driven and systems‑focused games while contributing to a modern development pipeline and collaborating closely with designers, developers and the player community.

About the role

You will develop new games using a custom C#‑based game development framework that offers low‑level control without the constraints of traditional engines. This role combines rapid prototyping, iterative gameplay development, hands‑on optimisation and active collaboration with players and internal teams. You may rotate across different projects over time, giving you exposure to a variety of game types and technical challenges.

What you’ll do

  • Prototype gameplay and game systems rapidly in C#
  • Adapt and iterate on code based on gameplay feedback
  • Test, debug and profile code to deliver polished game experiences
  • Engage with players via Discord and online communities
  • Provide feedback to internal tools teams to enhance the development framework
  • Work with modern development tooling including JetBrains Rider, GitHub and GitHub Copilot
  • Collaborate closely with other programmers and cross‑disciplinary teams

What we’re looking for:

Experience

  • 8+ years of software development or professional game programming experience
  • Strong, extensive experience in C# game or software development
  • Experience working collaboratively within programming teams
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent real‑world experience
  • PC game development experience is a must

Skills

  • Proficiency in C# for systems‑driven, performance‑sensitive game development
  • Strong debugging, profiling and optimisation skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to feedback and evolving requirements
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Nice to have

  • Experience with additional graphics APIs or game engines
  • Familiarity with C++
  • A shipped game
  • A portfolio of published or unpublished game projects

Working style / behaviours

  • Player‑focused and motivated by shipping meaningful improvements regularly
  • Highly iterative, adaptable and comfortable in a fast‑moving environment
  • Passionate about game development and community engagement
  • Proactive, communicative and eager to collaborate across teams

Why join

  • Work on diverse games using a cutting‑edge custom C# game framework
  • Collaborative, passionate development environment
  • Competitive salary and on‑site role in a vibrant waterfront location
  • Opportunities to rotate across projects and grow your technical breadth
  • Supportive team culture that values creativity, experimentation and player connection

Game Development Team Lead & North America Team Lead

Ryan leads our dev team, focusing on scouting out the best programmers in the industry! We think he’s working here mostly to get his hands on new Lord of the Rings VR experiences as soon as they come out although, with his level of knowledge, maybe he should be helping make them instead! He is one of the few people on the team that is a born and bred Brightonian. In fact, he has never moved far - to the point where the last time he moved, it was only 2 doors down from his old place!
