Skillsearch has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and collaborative Environment Artist to join our client's welcoming and friendly team. This full-time Environment Artist role is based in Stockholm and offers an attractive salary and benefits, including relocation assistance.
As an Environment Artist, you will help create a wide range of stylised environments, from mystical forests to floaty mountains. The client believes in gameplay first and takes collective responsibility for the game. For this role, that means working with our Game Directors, Designers, Character Artists, Animators and other Artists. Together they iterate until environments look and play as intended.
In your first few weeks in this Environment Artist role, you can expect to:
- Help define our universe and bring our dungeons to life
- Work with our Game Directors, Designers, Character Artists, Animators and other Artists
- Work in teams and communicate with designers, programmers and other artists
This is not an entry-level position, it is ideal you have multiple years of industry experience working with similar games or genres (MOBA, MMORPG, ARPG) or can identify what makes them read and work well. You need to be:
- Proficient in industry-standard modelling and texturing tools (Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter), workflows and how to build levels sustainably
- Full of understanding that your ideas, artistic sensibilities and understanding of what our game needs are as important as your artistic/technical skills
- Full of good art/game art fundamentals - Composition, Shaders, Light, Material, Silhouette, Proportions and Colour
