Skillsearch is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Environment Artist to join a progressive company in Montpellier, France. This full-time Environment Artist role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.
As a skilled Senior Environment Artist, your role will be to create grandiose fantasy environments in a realistic style. The company is looking for someone who combines great artistic sense with a deep knowledge of technical methods to achieve visual excellence inside Unreal Engine. They are implementing Unreal Engine 5's latest features to achieve outstanding quality in this project's environments.
In your first few weeks in this Senior Environment Artist role, you can expect to:
- Craft beautiful, believable and realistic fantasy environments together with the Art Director and the Level Designers to ensure the visual and design coherence of levels
- Collaborate with the narrative team to tell stories through the environments (environmental storytelling)
- Propose new ideas to the artistic team to create mesmerising levels
To apply for this Environment Artist job, you will need a passion for environment creation and must thrive on making crazy artistic visions come to life inside the engine. You must also be able to create urban and natural environments, have a keen eye for detail and want your environments to be believable. Additional requirements include:
- A proven portfolio of excellent 3D environment works
- Experience with Unreal Engine
- Familiarity with content creation pipelines such as Maya, Max, Photoshop, Substance, etc.
- 2+ years of previous experience on 3D video games projects
- Ability to create well-optimised assets (modelling, retopology, texturing and shading) to be placed inside UE
