Skillsearch is helping a games studio hire a Senior Environment Artist in Truro, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package. Hybrid and remote working options are available. 

In this Senior Environment Artist role, you’ll design and implement the visual appearance of maps from concept to finish, working with level designers to create cohesive and engaging play spaces rich in detail and visual fidelity. 

In your first few weeks in this Senior Environment Artist role, you can expect to: 

  • Create key assets and textures and implement them in-game 
  • Work with the production team to ensure all your work is correctly scoped and planned 
  • Work closely with the art department, ensuring all assets made are consistent on a technical and artistic level 
  • Optimise assets and maps to maximise game performance. 

To apply for this Senior Environment Artist role, you will need a portfolio of visually impressive environment assets and be credited as an environment artist in at least one published game, for PC or console. You will also require the following: 

  • Experience working in a visually realistic style before, preferably using 3DS Max 
  • An understanding of the strengths and limitations of the technical pipelines used in contemporary game engines 
  • Excellent eye for aesthetic style, colour and detail fuels your skills in visual and spatial storytelling.
