As a Senior Environmental Artist, you will hold responsibility for taking games environments from ideas to reality, bringing to life stunning scenes for the dedicated players of this long-running title to enjoy. The key in creating environments for the combat games put out by this studio is to make the scenes as realistic as possible, with the goal of impressing and exciting players who have been loyal fans for years.

Based in the beautiful city of Toronto, this studio offers relocation assistance for those who will be making the transition to the city. You will also receive several other perks as part of your role including a healthcare package included.

Senior Environment Artist Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside Artists and the Design Team to deliver stunning scenes and environmental assets

Essential Requirements for this Role in Toronto:

  • 3+ years of game developing experience
  • Strong portfolio including examples of high-quality environments created by you
  • Knowledge of the process required to develop game environments
  • Able to provide critique
  • Confident working under pressure to deadlines
  • Willing to relocate to Toronto

The following attributes are desirable but not essential to the role:

  • Experience working with Unreal
  • Traditional art background
  • Concept Art and Particle FX skills
  • Enthusiastic about the medieval era and combat games

This opening is perfect for an individual who is highly creative with an eye for aesthetics and a desire for innovation in gaming. As an environmental artist, you will have creative autonomy in developing stunning scenery in an imaginative yet practical and realistic way, in order to create an immersive real-life feel to the game.

You’ll need to bring with you an excitement for the games industry and a desire to constantly improve the titles the studio puts out. In exchange for your dedication to the success of the studio, they offer a flexible and friendly workspace and profit-sharing bonuses, along with various other perks to reward your hard work.

A little bit about the city: Toronto

As the largest city in Canada, and growing, Toronto prides itself on diversity, with a wide range of cultures, foods and art available. Named by Forbes as one of the ‘World’s Most Economically Powerful Cities’, Toronto is certainly somewhere worth settling in. Alongside the economic benefits, Toronto’s transport system is strong thanks to their public buses and streetcars, which use hybrid-electrics, therefore creating minimal environmental damage.

The city also boasts numerous art galleries, museums, operas, orchestras and much more, as well as being home to several sports teams. Generally regarded as a very safe city, and with several prestigious schools situated there, Toronto is an especially great option for people with families considering relocating.

Years of experience and salary levels are shown purely as a guide. We will consider applications from candidates that can demonstrate the skills or experience required for the role.
