Senior Art Director

Skillsearch is helping a gaming company find an experienced and talented Senior Art Director to join their welcoming and friendly team. This full-time Art Director role is remote within Europe and comes with a generous salary of €200,000-€340,000 and many fantastic benefits. 

As a passionate and skilled Senior Art Director, you will provide high-level support of game art from concept to in-game. You will be the encouraging force in the art department to create immersive game environments and iconic characters in various genres and styles. You may also work on co-dev projects that require close collaboration with other excellent studios. 

In your first few weeks in this Senior Art Director role, you can expect to: 

• Sketch your original ideas and solve every visual challenge while respecting the project style guide and the medium's restrictions 
• Help the concept team to clarify and enhance the visuals of their effort 
• Seek feedback proactively and share your experience and knowledge freely 
• Help the art teams understand western art and culture to improve their ability to understand concepts for that game 
• Ensure that the internal team can take their assets to 100% completion 

To apply for this Art Director job, you will need experience shipping several next gen/AAA titles as an Art Leader or higher. You will also require the following: 

• Multiple games shipped and experience of the Concept Artist’s role in several production stages 
• Production sense and excellent craftsmanship to showcase ideas without effort 
• Curiosity for multiple genres, including military, sci-fi, urban, medieval and fantasy 

• Experience doing makeups and paint-overs to convey visuals to the internal team and partners 
• Familiarity with how all types of assets work and able to use them to the best effect
