Senior Animator

We're on the lookout for a Senior Animator to join a remote-first game development team. As a Senior Animator, you’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality animations that bring characters and creatures to life in a cinematic action melee, third-person shooter game. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with design and art teams, lead by example, and mentor junior animators, all from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Animation Creation: Lead the production of high-quality character and creature animations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to ensure animations complement gameplay mechanics.
• Consistency: Ensure animations are consistent with the game’s artistic style by collaborating with the art team.
• Implementation: Integrate animations into Unreal Engine 5, ensuring smooth gameplay experiences.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior animators, helping them to improve their skills and deliver top-notch work.
• Quality Control: Review and critique animations to maintain high standards expected in AA/AAA titles.
• Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in animation techniques.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Animator or in a similar role within the gaming industry.
• Technical Skills: Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) and proficiency in animation software such as Maya or Blender.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality animations, particularly in cinematic action and third-person shooter genres.
• Expertise: Solid understanding of rigging, skinning, and animation principles, with experience working on AA/AAA game titles.
• Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members effectively.
• Independence: Able to work autonomously and take initiative in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
