As a Principal VFX Artist in Guildford, you will be working on a game where VFX plays a key role. You will be pushing the boundaries of what can be expected in real-time VFX and crafting artistically interesting effects. This is an opportunity to use your VFX experience to play an active part in creating AAA quality games.

This BAFTA-winning studio has a glowing reputation for innovation in the storytelling and VR genres, with a number of critically acclaimed successful titles behind them, and some new projects in the works, it’s a great time to join the team!

  • Strong artistic abilities and vision, able to judge if an effect fits in with the rest of the game render appropriately
  • Able to create detailed and filmic ‘light and magic’ style effects which sit comfortably in a photorealistic render
  • Experience working with particle systems and materials, and understanding how these contribute the art direction
  • In depth knowledge of VFX production techniques for real time CG and an understanding of VFX systems in Unreal Engine/Niagra
  • Leadership and mentoring skills

  • Overseeing VFX production pipelines and workflows for an ambitious AAA project and achieving visual results in VFX assets which are competitive with leading AAA games
  • Taking on a leading role in the R&D process for challenging tasks relating to VFX and mentoring a team of VFX artists to help produce great results
  • Looking out for opportunities offered by new tech advances in real time VFX and working out scope and approach along with the directors and production
  • Acting as a figurehead for the VFX discipline, representing it in meeting and reviews and being an active part in the recruitment of further VFX hires
  • Consistently meeting all project deadlines as they are determined by the senior producer
