Skillsearch is helping a gaming company find an experienced Principal Player Investment Designer to help create a variety of meaningful, rich and rewarding investment systems. This is a full-time role based in Amsterdam, and it comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.
As a Player Investment Designer, you will design, prototype and implement systems that steer and incentivize player investment in our game world and characters.
In your first few weeks in this Player Investment Designer role, you can expect to:
- Design, prototype and implement systems that steer and incentivise player investment in games and characters
- Find original ways to sustain player engagement while ensuring that the games can be enjoyed by players with diverse backgrounds for many years to come
- Devise unique mechanisms and objectives through which players can develop a close, personal bond with the studio's content
- Build long-term player engagement by balancing content quality and quantity.
To apply, you will need 5+ years of experience as a Player Investment Designer with demonstrable experience working on features related to players’ long-term goals, rewards and investments. You will also require the following:
- At least one shipped game, preferably an online or multiplayer title, on any platform, where you were in design ownership of player investment systems
- Understanding of the technical limitations of an online environment
- The ability to work comfortably in a team environment, providing and receiving constructive criticism
- Self-motivation, able to take initiative.
