Principal Games Writer

As a Principal Writer, you will take ownership of complex narrative features and content and pitch compelling ideas for game quests, factions and backstories. You will also develop narrative designs for quests, gameplay activities and game features.  

In your first few weeks in this Principal Games Writer role, you can expect to: 

• Pitch compelling ideas for game quests, factions and backstories 
• Write quest dialogue, systemic dialogue, story outlines and faction documents 
• Act as an example for junior writers to help them level up 
• Support teams with their narrative needs while advocating for the game’s emotional arc. 

To apply for this Principal Writer role, you will need 6+ years of experience as a game writer at a AAA studio, having shipped multiple AAA game titles. You will also require the following: 

• A background or had training in dramatic writing and story structure 
• Experience with complex narrative design tasks and branching dialogue systems 
• Knowledge of stories and narrative design in open-world RPG games, online games, and MMORPGs 
• Proficiency with prompt revisions based on rapidly evolving feedback.
