Remote Principal Engine Engineer 

We’re looking for an Engine Engineer who likes the sound of working on a brand-new AAA IP alongside some industry veterans. If you think this could be you, keep reading to find out more and apply today... 

As a Principal Engine Engineer at this studio, you will be working fully remotely from anywhere within North America to create fun games to be enjoyed by millions for many years to come. Within the role you will work to understand what keeps players engaged and channel your passion into creating the best games possible. 

This AAA studio is a leading global platform for game development and publishing, as well as operating one of the largest online game communities in China. Currently home to over 140 games, they offer some thrilling cross-platform interactive experiences, and with more new titles up their sleeve, it’s a great time to join the team! 

Principal Engine Engineer responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain engine technology which powers the game 
  • Build and maintain pipelines 
  • Develop practices and budgets for content creators 
  • Write maintainable and portable code adhering to coding standards 
  • Develop new and maintain existing tools 
  • Give and receive feedback 

Key requirements for this remote role: 

  • Knowledge of how to integrate common content types into games 
  • Knowledge of engine systems such as audio, animation, asset management, etc. 
  • Proficient with C/C++ 
  • Debugging and optimisation skills 
  • Able to prototype and iterate quickly 
  • Experience with modern game engines
