Our client is looking for an experienced People Advisor to join an inclusive and collaborative team. This full-time People Advisor role is based in Birmingham and offers hybrid working and the chance to be part of a positive and diverse workplace culture. The role comes with a generous salary and benefits package. 

As a People Advisor, you will be instrumental in aiding the People Manager within all aspects of the HR function. 

In your first few weeks in this People Advisor role, you can expect to: 

  • Act as the first point of contact for all general HR-related queries; providing HR advice and support on policies and practices 
  • Work closely with the People Manager and support ad-hoc projects, with the possibility to lead and manage your own projects on time 
  • Provide administrative support for employee life cycle processes, including new starters, leavers, contract changes and the monthly payroll 
  • Liaise with external professionals, including employment lawyers 
  • Oversee and participate in the onboarding and offboarding process; this includes reviewing approvals, conducting right-to-work checks, inductions etc 

To apply for this People Advisor role, you will need at least 1-2 years of experience as a People Advisor or similar role. You will also require the following: 

  • Knowledge of best practice and employment law and practical application 
  • Good general IT skills and the ability to work with spreadsheets, word packages, PowerPoint etc 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • The ability to maintain a professional stance and appreciate confidentiality
