You will be a part of Game Services, a strategic team with mixed competencies that provides online services and integration to the studio's games. They work closely with the game teams to deliver high-quality online services and ensure they are operational. The games are being built in Unreal Engine, using C++, a scripting language called Angelscript and some blueprints.
You can expect to work on services like Persistent Inventory, Friends, Voice Chat, Anti-Cheat, Progression, and Store. Some of your primary responsibilities as an Online Game Programmer will include:
- Creating the core metagame systems for the studio's games
- Collaborating with game designers to find innovative new ways to engage with players
- Designing and developing the friends, party, and chat systems
- Using data as a guide when designing matchmaking rules
The successful Online Game Programmer applicant will have a background in C++ and a good grasp of what social and metagame looks and feels like. You will also need an interest in computer science and programming as a craft. Fluency in English is required. Experience with Online systems in games or backend services development experience would be advantageous.
