Skillsearch is seeking a skilled and collaborative Network Engineer to join our client's welcoming and friendly team. This full-time Network Engineer role is offered on a remote basis, and it comes with an attractive salary and benefits.
As a Network Engineer, you will continually find clever ways to optimize network and gameplay systems for smooth and synchronized network performance across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox using both dedicated server and peer-to-peer connections.
In your first few weeks in this Network Engineer role, you can expect to:
- Implement and maintain multiplayer features that exist in an action-oriented first-person shooter that utilizes procedurally generated environments
- Develop matchmaking and in-game features that leverage backend platform services such as Epic Online Services, Steam, PSN, and Xbox Live
- Leverage external backend and content storage and delivery services
- Use existing features of Unreal Engine 4 to simplify, solidify, and automate the QA testing process
- Implement security measures to protect the integrity of the game and prevent cheating.
To apply for this Network Engineer role, you will need a degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science (network specialization preferred). You will also require the following:
- Shipped at least one online multiplayer title as a network engineer
- Good knowledge of C++ and game development
- Bonus qualifications: Unreal Engine 4, Steam, PSN, and Xbox Live development experience.
