Network Engineer in Guildford

As a Network Engineer at this studio in Guildford, you will be working on a AAA arcade racing title for Unreal Engine 5. Within the role you will work with design and gameplay teams to provide support in architecture, design, implementation and optimisation to connect players and drive games forward.

Network Engineer responsibilities: 

  • Design and architect the network components of the game 
  • Implement and fine tune the code 
  • Work with gameplay engineers using provided interfaces 
  • Analyse and optimise the wire data 
  • Solve network issues such as high latency, low bandwidth or firewall traversal scenarios 

Key requirements for this role in Guildford: 

  • Significant prior experience as a network engineer in the games industry 
  • C/C++ skills 
  • Skilled in debugging real-time applications 
  • Understanding of network, multi-threaded and concurrent programming 
  • Passionate about developing quality games

VR and AR Consultant Ryan Templeman

Ryan looks after programmers particularly focusing on the VR/AR space. We think he’s working here mostly get his hands on new Lord of the Rings VR experiences as soon as they come out although, with his level of knowledge, maybe he should be helping make them instead!    He is one of the few people on the team that is a born and bred Brightonian.
