As a Narrative Designer, your role will be to translate the intricate story of our client's game into a game experience. You will work closely with the Creative Direction and the Writer to make sure the narrative intentions are well translated in the game in many ways: dialogues, environmental storytelling, cutscenes, and collectables description.
To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:
- Write dialogue and additional game text
- Collaborate with the level design group to define the fantasy emotional goals of an experience
- Develop a narrative flow that supports these goals
- Make a layout, gameplay mechanics, and pacing suggestions to strengthen the fantasy and emotional goals.
To apply for this Narrative Designer role, you will need previous work as a narrative designer on a shipped PC or console title and experience working in Unreal Engine 5 is preferred. You will also require the following:
- The ability to implement dialogues and texts yourself using blueprints made by the programmer
- A sharp eye for good dialogue and pacing
- To be able to write dialogues yourself
- A love of playing games.
