Narrative Designer in Guildford

As a Narrative Designer at this studio in Guildford, you will champion narrative design throughout the game design process and work to ensure the game experience delivers the intended vision to players. If you love working alongside talented and creative teams, then you could be a great fit here.

Narrative Designer responsibilities: 

  • Build narrative into the central pillars of the game 
  • Create character arcs, strong pacing, interesting locations and story progression 
  • Ensure gameplay choices are meaningful and consequences make sense 
  • Weight branching paths with depth and strength of content 

Essential requirements for this role in Guildford: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication 
  • Work well in a creative team 
  • Skilled in writing description, idea explanation, script writing 
  • Experience writing within constraints 
  • Able to write quickly and estimate timeframes accurately 
  • Identify narrative design problems and present solutions

A little bit about the city: Guildford  

Located in a beautiful spot in between London and England’s south coast, Guildford is a busy market town that has been recently updated to be home to some great modern facilities such as an award-winning sport centre, including an ice rink and athletics stadium. However, there is still some culture to be explored in this city, with its historic buildings, beautiful parks and a theatre. Sitting on top of a central hill, Guildford Cathedral looks over the city whilst being surrounded by beautiful, picturesque scenery, making for some great exploring. Situated just outside of London, Guildford is a short 35-minute journey into the capital by train, so is ideally positioned so you are not too far away from a day trip to the big city!
