Are you a Machine Learning Engineer looking to build real-world AI systems and gain hands-on experience operating machine learning models in production?

Join an innovative technology company developing next-generation AI-powered products designed to solve meaningful problems at scale. This is an opportunity to work directly on production machine learning systems from day one, helping build, evaluate and improve models that deliver tangible value to users.

About The Role

As a Member of Technical Staff, Machine Learning, you will contribute to the development of core machine learning systems across training, evaluation, inference and data pipelines.

You'll work closely with experienced machine learning engineers, researchers and product teams, gaining exposure to the challenges of operating AI systems in real-world environments. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow through hands-on ownership, experimentation and continuous learning.

What You'll Do

Machine Learning Development

  • Build and improve machine learning components across data, training, evaluation and inference systems.
  • Fine-tune and adapt models as part of larger production environments.
  • Implement testing and evaluation frameworks to better understand model behaviour.
  • Contribute to model deployment and production optimisation efforts.
  • Continuously iterate on models and systems based on measurable performance outcomes.

Data & Infrastructure

  • Build and maintain data pipelines supporting real-world and synthetic training data.
  • Improve data quality, reproducibility and reliability across machine learning workflows.
  • Support the development of robust training and inference infrastructure.
  • Help ensure ML systems remain maintainable and scalable.

Production Operations

  • Debug model behaviour, performance issues and production incidents.
  • Investigate latency, reliability and operational challenges.
  • Support root-cause analysis and implement improvements.
  • Monitor production systems and proactively identify opportunities for optimisation.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior ML engineers, software engineers, researchers and product teams.
  • Participate in technical discussions and implementation planning.
  • Learn from experienced team members while steadily growing technical ownership.
  • Help deliver reliable AI-powered features that improve user experiences.

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • Strong foundations in machine learning and modern neural network architectures.
  • Exposure to training, fine-tuning or deploying machine learning models.
  • Experience writing production-quality software.
  • Interest in building and operating real-world AI systems.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Python development skills.
  • Familiarity with PyTorch and/or JAX.
  • Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and model evaluation techniques.
  • Strong debugging and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and frameworks quickly.

Personal Attributes

  • Curious, coachable and eager to learn.
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and evolving requirements.
  • Strong ownership mentality with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Bias toward shipping, iteration and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for solving practical problems using machine learning.

Technology Stack

  • Python
  • PyTorch
  • JAX
  • GPU-based training and inference systems
  • Production machine learning infrastructure

Success In This Role

  • Machine learning models consistently meet performance, accuracy and reliability targets.
  • Production issues are identified, debugged and resolved effectively.
  • Data pipelines, training workflows and inference systems remain robust and maintainable.
  • Improvements are driven by measurable results and real-world feedback.
  • Strong collaboration across engineering, research and product teams enables efficient delivery.

Working Environment

You'll join a small, highly talented and hands-on team where engineers take ownership of meaningful challenges and are encouraged to contribute ideas from day one.

We value practical problem-solving, technical excellence and rapid learning. Team members work closely together, make decisions quickly and focus on building products that create real impact.

Why Join?

  • Work on production machine learning systems from day one.
  • Learn from experienced engineers and researchers.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to large-scale AI infrastructure.
  • Develop expertise across training, evaluation and inference.
  • Own meaningful technical challenges and see your work reach users.
  • Join a high-calibre team focused on building impactful AI-powered products.
