We are seeking an experienced Level Designer to join a creative and welcoming game studio in Brighton. The full-time role offers an excellent salary and benefits package for your dedication.
The Level Designer will be working on a multiplatform, multiplayer title, from early concept and white box through to the final product. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and iterating environmental locations that allow for massively multiplayer action and facilitate highly engaging moment-to-moment gameplay. Hybrid working is preferred for this role, but fully remote is possible in particular cases.
During your first few weeks in this Level Designer role, you can expect to take on some of the following:
- Work closely with other Designers and Artists to create environmental locations that cater for chaos and intense gameplay
- Contribute to the creative process by owning the creation of levels from block out to final, helping move the game's vision forward
- Collaborate with the team to define and implement innovative gameplay mechanics within the maps
- Use data and insights from user testing to iterate and elevate the levels
To apply for this Level Designer position, you will need at least 4 years of experience and a solid working knowledge of Level Design processes and best practices. We are also looking for:
- Solid portfolio of previous projects or maps you can break down and discuss
- Knowledge of one or more industry-standard engines
- Excellent creative abilities and idea generation
- Easy-going attitude and flexibility with new ideas; open to direction and iteration
