If you have Unity game development experience and an interest in making mobile games, Skillsearch has an exciting opportunity for you. We are helping a London-based mobile games developer & publisher find a full-time Lead Unity Developer for their passionate and inclusive team. The role offers a salary of £70,000 and a wide range of benefits.

As part of the Central London studio, you will be guiding the gameplay team of one of the company's successful games within a cross-functional team. Collaborating with designers, artists, and other programmers across the studio, you will work on challenges and problems around making, releasing, and maintaining a successful mobile game.

During your first few weeks in this Lead Unity Developer role, you can expect to:

  • Guide the development of game programming for gameplay, player controls, game simulation behaviours, AI, meta-game behaviour, user interface, visual effects, audio effects, analytics hooks, and social features
  • Guide a team of gameplay programmers, using your experience and insight to give them support on how best to build new features, improve team synergy and develop their skills
  • Design and write code in a maintainable and easily updatable manner, maintaining this ethos across the development team
  • Write tools where necessary to empower artists and designers to make the game as much as possible

This Unity Developer role would suit someone who would like a lot of impact and autonomy, and who likes being involved in the decision-making process. Proven commercial Unity games development experience is required, preferably in mobile games but console or PC will also be considered. Additional requirements include:

  • Excellent technical design and code skills in C#
  • At least 3 commercial titles developed in Unity from start to release, having gone through a full QA cycle, and preferably beyond post-release support developing updates or DLC
  • Previous experience guiding and/or mentoring junior, intermediate and senior programmers
  • A passion/interest for making mobile games and exploring new approaches to development within the Free-to-Play field

As a vital member of our team and in return for your expertise, inclusive approach and commitment, we will provide a favourable salary and benefits, such as:

  • Enhanced Maternity (18 weeks) and Paternity leave (6 weeks)
  • Flexible working hours & remote working 3 days per week
  • 4-day work week (30 hours/week)
  • Stock Options
  • Private health care and more!
