Skillsearch is looking for a Lead UI/UX Designer to direct a team of UI artists and designers to design and deliver the live service UX strategy for our client's dark, sci-fi shooter game. This full-time UI/UX design role offers an attractive salary and benefits package.
As a talented Lead UI/UX Designer, you will join a collaborative environment, working as part of a multidisciplinary management team, to help inspire a team of UI artists, technical UI designers and UX designers to shape the vision, aesthetic and implementation of the UI for an unannounced title.
In your first few weeks in this Lead UI/UX Designer role, you can expect to:
- Guide the UI team, design and iterate UX, and inspire the UI/UX deliverables for the project
- Build a UX strategy for a brand-new game, helping to shape the UX vision in collaboration with experts from the design team
- Design integral player experiences and get the joy of implementing and iterating some of those experiences yourself using a visual scripting toolset
- Guide the delivery and quality of the UI for the project, mentoring and supporting UI designers, artists and technical designers
The ideal candidate does not necessarily have to be a lead in their current role, but the company is particularly interested to hear from motivated individuals aspiring to take that next step into a management position. They need someone who knows how valuable data is in analysing and reacting to user behaviour and feedback but also loves working with others. In addition, you should have the following skills and expertise:
- Experience designing UX/UI
- Expertise in managing a small team through all phases of the project lifecycle
- Portfolio showing experience designing high-fidelity UI using industry-standard tools such as Adobe XD, Illustrator, Sketch, Figma, etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate whilst building long-term, trusting relationships with a wide range of people
- Passionate about video games and game development
