Skillsearch is looking for a skilled and collaborative Lead Programmer to join our client's inclusive team. This full-time lead programming role is based in Toronto, Canada, and comes with an excellent salary and benefits package. 

As a Lead Programmer, you will collaborate closely with the engineering team to build a technically excellent game across multiple platforms. You will encourage and help guide the creation of technical design documents, set up a process to review the game regularly during the development cycle and identify areas of improvement. 

In your first few weeks in this Lead Programmer role, you can expect to: 

  • Direct and manage a programming team at technical and personnel levels 
  • Provide an estimated time to complete programming tasks/objectives and be committed to meeting them 
  • Help in setting up best practices for coding and conduct regular code reviews 
  • Collaborate with directors, designers and production to ensure efficient development practices 

To apply for this lead programming job, you will need proficiency in C++ and at least five years of professional video game programming experience. You will also require the following: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent 
  • Previous management/mentorship experience or management interest and potential 
  • Good knowledge of programming languages and software engineering practices 
  • Experience developing AAA titles on multiple console platforms 
  • Expertise in Unreal 4 or similar engines
