Lead Level Designer

Skillsearch is helping a games studio find a Lead Level Designer with proven level design experience on console or PC titles. This full-time remote role comes with a generous salary and benefits package. 

As a Lead Level Designer, you will lead a team of level designers to deliver high-quality levels that support the creative pillars of the game and IP.  

In your first few weeks in this Lead Level Designer role, you can expect to: 

• Help evangelise the game vision, ensuring it is clearly communicated to your team and carried through into the game’s level design and implementation 
• Ensure your level design team understand the vision and design of the games, holding regular reviews and providing feedback so their work meets the required quality bar 
• Support feedback from other disciplines, the Design Director, and User Research. 

To apply for this Lead Level Designer role, you will need extensive experience in level design on AAA action-adventure titles, with at least one title shipped in a Lead Level Design position on console or PC. You will also require the following: 

• A broad knowledge of all aspects of game and level design with a strong understanding of layout, architectural composition, combat and encounter design, balancing, flow, difficulty, progression and usability 
• Understanding player motivations and psychology 
• A passion for creating fun and accessible games for children and families.
