Do you have level design experience, and are you seeking a new job in Edmonton? Skillsearch is helping a videogame company find a full-time Lead Level Designer, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

As a flexible Lead Level Designer, you will help define the player experience while building some of the first iconic locations in the company's new fictional universe.

In your first few weeks in this Lead Level Designer role, you can expect to:

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, Lead Designers, and the wider team to help define the direction of game design and player experience
  • Manage, mentor, and prioritize assignments to a team of Level Designers
  • Elevate the game’s core vision by developing compelling missions and level layouts from conceptualisation to final polish
  • Build and foster a strong, creative, collaborative, and caring team culture.

To apply for this Lead Level Designer role, you will need at least 7 years of experience in designing levels for AAA games with at least two shipped titles. You will also require the following:

  • Experience leading a team of Level Designers through a full production cycle
  • A portfolio demonstrating your ability to seamlessly integrate compelling gameplay into believable spaces
  • Experience working with technical leads to build pipelines and performant game levels
  • Ability to create and iterate on map layouts, game systems, and missions at all stages of development.
