Skillsearch is looking for a passionate Lead Game Developer who will oversee the development team of one of our client's new and unannounced games through launch and beyond. This full-time Lead Developer role is remote in the UK and offers a favourable salary and benefits. 

As an experienced and talented Lead Game Developer, you will help direct the technology on the project with the advice of the CTO while supporting the team in developing this ground-breaking game and technology. You will also handle complex problems and bring your development experience into new and innovative solutions. 

In your first few weeks in this Lead Game Developer role, you can expect to: 

  • Provide technical oversight to the development team, helping to deliver quality software within approved deadlines 
  • Communicate with project stakeholders, team members and external partners to ensure smooth development and visibility 
  • Ensure the quality of the code you and the team write, creating amazing gameplay experiences in a clean, efficient and polished way 
  • Help your team at large with solving technical issues 
  • Guide by example and champion the project’s culture, production and development processes 

To apply for this Game Developer role, you will need experience guiding medium size teams and making games with Unity using C#. You will also require expertise in delivering code for games, having shipped at least three complete games for 6-10 years as an individual contributor or a Lead. In addition, you should have experience with rapid prototyping and agile or iterative game development. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and the development of multiplayer systems is also essential.
