Reporting to the Art Director, you will work in conjunction with the Technical Art Director to develop the environment pipeline, prop building and world-building. As the Lead Environment Artist, you will help develop the process and final look for the worlds, create immersive VR levels and tell the story of the game through your work. 

In your first few weeks in this Lead Environment Artist role, you can expect to: 

  • Provide direction to environmental artists for aesthetic and technical considerations 
  • Work with the Technical Art Director to define art production budgets, pipelines, workflows, and processes 
  • Work closely with the design team to detail the goals and functionality of game levels and needed environment props 
  • Work with production to schedule appropriately and plan for integration processes. 

To apply for this Environment Art Lead role, you will need 5 years of professional gam production experience and 1+ years of experience in a leadership role. You will also require the following: 

  • Expert understanding of Photoshop, Maya, and ZBrush (or equivalent)Advanced understanding of generating normal maps from high poly models 
  • Understanding of complex node-based shader networks 
  • Excellent foundations skills, including composition, design, and color theory 
  • Thorough knowledge of the game development process.
