Skillsearch is looking for an experienced and collaborative Engine Programmer to join our client's inclusive and friendly team. This full-time Engine Programming remote role is remote across Canada only and offers a favourable salary and benefits. Employees can work remotely.
As an Engine Programmer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing and maintaining parts of the studio's in-house engine and contributing to the Unreal Engine. The role involves daily cooperation with other programmers locally as well as remotely. You will be working in a multilingual and multicultural working environment, and the ability to communicate across language and time zone barriers is essential.
To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:
- The management of Engine team members
- Mentoring, scheduling and tracking tasks
- Performance evaluations, one-on-one
- Disciplinary actions and knowing when to report an issue up the line
To apply for this Engine Programmer role, you will need excellent knowledge of C++ coding principles and practices with at least four years of professional experience. You will also require the following:
- At least two years of relevant experience in the games industry or in real-time systems
- Experience with several hardware platforms
- The ability to debug and optimize code
- Excellent multi-threaded programming skills
