Lead Character Concept Artist

Skillsearch is looking for a committed and talented Lead Character Concept Artist to join our client's vibrant and inclusive team. This full-time character concept art role is remote within Europe and comes with an attractive salary and benefits package. 

As an attentive and collaborative Lead Character Concept Artist, you will be an encouraging force in the art department to create immersive game environments and a cast of iconic characters in various genres and styles. You will sketch your original ideas and solve every visual challenge while respecting the project style guide and the medium's restrictions. You may also work on co-dev projects which require close collaboration with other excellent studios. 

To give you an idea of how this Lead Character Concept Artist role would look and feel, these are some things you could expect to do: 

• Polish your work to the highest possible quality for 3D production 
• Seek feedback proactively and share your experience and knowledge freely 
• Create characters and environments 
• Communicate frequently with the art team in Shanghai and the company's global partners 

To apply for this character concept art job, you will need at least 2-3 years of AAA games experience. You will also require multiple games shipped and experience in the Concept Artist’s role in several production stages. In addition, you should have the following skills and expertise: 

• Production sense and knowledge of other disciplines 
• Excellent craftsmanship to showcase ideas without effort 
• Good fundamentals of anatomy, character design, perspective, composition, and the lighting of materials and form 
• Curiosity for multiple genres, including military, sci-fi, urban, medieval and fantasy 

• Ability to think 3D and knowledge of how your work translates into the game
