Remote Lead Character Artist

As a Lead Character Artist at this fully remote studio, you will be playing a key role in driving the vision and quality of game characters, acting as a key point of contact and looking after asset development underneath the Art Directors, striving to deliver genre defining titles. 

This studio is made up of a veteran tam of developers, and they are currently working on a highly anticipated upcoming AAA game, so it’s the perfect time to join them! 

Lead Character Artist responsibilities: 

  • Mentor a team of Character Artists 
  • Deliver amazing AAA characters 
  • Create industry leading assets 
  • Manage external relationships, provide feedback and maintain a consistent vision for characters 
  • Create, improve and maintain pipelines 
  • Set budgets and document workflows 
  • Assist with implementing and optimising runtime assets 
  • Give and take feedback 

Key requirements for this remote role: 

  • Significant prior experience in a similar position 
  • Have worked on one or more shipped game 
  • Extensive knowledge of character art principles 
  • Expert knowledge of character creation software such as Zbrush, Substance, Maya, etc. 
  • Hands on experience of Unreal Engine or similar 
  • Desire to improve the character development process
